Tradition Meets Innovation – Welcome to Weingut Unser

Since 1996, we have been crafting professional wines with direct bottle sales. Before that, our focus was primarily on traditional agriculture—growing potatoes and grains, and raising pigs. Even back then, our farm included small vineyard plots, with grapes mainly supplied to other wineries. A small portion was used by our father, Franz Unser, to produce house wine for our family-run Besenwirtschaft—a beloved local tavern that has existed for more than 30 years.

Passion for Winemaking

After finishing school, Andreas Unser pursued formal training as a vintner. During his apprenticeship, he began crafting Besen wine himself, which quickly received enthusiastic feedback. Following years of professional experience in various wineries and academic studies at Heilbronn University, Andreas decided to start producing his own wines. He built a state-of-the-art pressing facility and made substantial investments in modern cellar technology. As quality improved steadily, so did recognition—evidenced by numerous awards from the State Wine Awards.

In 2011, the winery was passed down from the parents, and Andreas’ brother Florian Unser joined the business after completing his own viticulture studies at Heilbronn University.

A Family Winery with Heart and Hand

Producing around 50,000 bottles a year, we remain a proud family-run operation. Our philosophy: quality is born in the vineyard and can only be preserved in the cellar. That’s why we cultivate our vineyards with the utmost care—eschewing insecticides, relying on manual labor, and using plant protection products mindfully. The result: artisan wines with authentic character.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the beginning, sustainable viticulture has been central to our approach. We avoid unnecessary machinery passes, protect native flora and fauna, and support the natural development of beneficial insects. Since 2010, our solar panel system has generated more than double the green electricity we consume—giving us an enviable carbon footprint.
